Former champions Charlie Smith turned back Camperdown in the second leg clash at the Bellevue Field yesterday.
It was a mouth-watering clash between the two teams as they fought for a chance in the Walker Cup.

Camperdown and Charlie Smith tussled for midfield dominance in the early stages of their match before Odane Samuels spectacularly opened the scoring with a 40-yard free kick. This was Samuels’ third goal in this season’s two meetings between the teams, having scored his team’s lone goal in a 3-1 defeat as well as an own goal.
However the other goal didn’t come until the 47th minute when Patrick Sales didn’t make any mistake to finish inside the box.

The Camperdown team made several attempts when they beat the Charlie Smith’s custodian but was denied by goal keeper Leon Taylor.

In the group’s other games, St George’s College rebounded from their loss to Charlie Smith on Saturday to defeat Donald Quarrie 5-0, while Oberlin clipped Vauxhall 2-1.

Charlie Smith and St. Georges are both on 20 points with ‘the light blues’ leading on goal average.
